The survey, Workers Want to Update Their Skills More Frequently carried out by corporate training platform vendor TalentLMS and human resource information system vendor Workable, also found that:
Employer upskilling and reskilling efforts
- (27%) of employees expressed high satisfaction.
- (17%) of employees indicated they very dissatisfied.
- (13%) of employees reported being somewhat dissatisfied.
- Overall, (30%) of employees expressed dissatisfaction, with (17%) very dissatisfied, and (13%) somewhat dissatisfied.

- (24%) of employees found variety of skills training offered by their employer very satisfying.

- (5%) expressed being very unhappy.
- (14%) were somewhat unhappy.
The top 3 motivators for employees to learn new skills were:
- Personal growth (39%).
- Meeting job requirements (33%).
- Staying updated with industry advancements and changes (33%).
- (77%) of employees say that learning new skills gives them a sense of purpose.
- (37%) of employees fear that their current skills will become obsolete in the future.
Growth Mindset in the Workforce
“A workforce with a growth mindset is a workforce prepared to take on new challenges and win. Whether it’s new job roles, technologies, working models, or business practices, this principle applies,” states the survey report.
Impact of Learning Culture
According to research by Deloitte, employee engagement and retention rates are 30 to 50 percent higher in organizations that have a strong learning culture. In addition, employees are 52 percent more productive, and 92 percent more likely to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement efforts.
